Devendra Jhajharia wins golds in Javelin throw.

Creating history on Tuesday Devendra Jhajharia became first Indian to win two golds at Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. He broke his own previous record at Rio to win another gold. 36-year-old Jhajharia had earlier won gold at Athens Olympic in 2004. He improved his own competition in men’s SF46 competition. His earlier record was of 62.15 meters which he had made at Athens Olympic. He made 63.92 meters record here at Rio.
He had lost his left hand as it had to be removed when he came in contact with electricity wire
Rajasthan-born Jhajharia had lost his left hand in his childhood, when he got in contact with electricity wire while was climbing a tree. In spite of this setback, his love for the game didn’t change. He won the prestigious Arjuna award in 2004 and Padma Shri award in 2012. He became first Paralympic player to get this award. With this gold medal, this great athlete with a world ranking of the third position has won two gold, one bronze, and one silver to his name until now.
