UP Dangal Registers Yet Another Victory In PWL Season 3
UP Dangal registers yet another win on 19th Jan 2018 in Pro-Wrestling League (PWL) at Siri Fort Stadium, New Delhi to enter semi-finals. The match was against Veer Marathas where UP Dangal’s Vinesh Phogat beat sister Ritu Phogat fromVeer Marathas and registered continuous fourth-time victory in PWL season 3.
Final victory of Dangal was recorded by the Common Wealth Games champion, Bajrang as he won the last bout against Amit Dhankar 7-2 in 65kg category clash giving UP Dangal an unbeaten record title throughout the PWL. In the next bout, Geeta Phogat made it 2-0 for Dangal, beating national champion Ritu Malik 5-0 in the 62 kg women’s event. It was the first win of the 2017 Common Wealth Champion, Geeta Phogat, in this edition.
It was a narrow 4-3 win for the UP Dangal as in the first bout of the day, Nithin Rathi from Dangal made a great comeback registering a 7-4 victory over Maratha’s Shravan Kumar in the 57 kg class to help get the first point for his side but Vicky Chahar, in the 92 kg competition, lost against Georgi Keteov of Armenia by 16-0 giving it a tie for Marathas.
Veer Marathas, after winning the toss, opted to block Uzbekistan’s Bekzod Abdurakhmonov out of the equation while Marwa Amri was blocked by UP Dangal.
